Description
Short-eared Owls hunt by flying low and slowly over fields, using their keen hearing to locate prey, primarily small rodents like voles, beneath the snow or grass. They have a distinct, moth-like flight pattern and can hover before plunging down to catch prey. Here, the owl landed....no plunging.....went to ground as if to rest for a bit.
